Posted by PicasaMixing and layering patterns on fabrics and wallcoverings can create a beautiful and comfortable room. To keep the look from becoming too busy or overwhelming use patterns that have repetitive colors in their palettes.

Graphic Patterns

Graphic patterns on fabrics has been a trend for the past few years. It is a retro look giving homage to the 60's and 70's. Many of the fabrics with graphic patterns are printed cottons. Which is a great casual look.

Graphic Patterns

To take it up a notch, I love these graphic patterns. These fabrics are woven. The patterns are made by a cut velvet process. The pattern in a cut velvet is made by sheering some of the pile loops. This gives the fabric a rich, opulent look and feel.
