Osborne & Little and Scalamandre' Wallcoverings
Wallcovering adds depth and detail to a room. It can also be the element that brings it all together; color, pattern, whatever you need.

Osborne & Little Wallcovering
Fontelle, a green floral vine pattern with a larger scale takes on a graphic effect.
The Palais Chinois toile pattern on the back wall has a clean, water color style to it. It becomes an updated classic. The color palette of red and black on the Voujours pattern in the foreground gives it a current appealing look.

The open pattern of Soubise, a white and tan paisley is a fresh look. The tan colorway is interesting and soothing.
Scalamandre's Baldwin Bamboo
These Scalamandre' patterns are traditional, classic and perfect for today. The Bamboo pattern was made popular by the designer, Billy Baldwin. It was an element of his upscale, sophisticated aesthetic.
Every colorway has its own personality. The red and purple colorways are striking and demand attention.

The soft green and yellow colorways have a more subtle appeal. All are great examples of Billy Baldwin's ability to make the classic modern.
Scalamandre's Florentina
This bountiful botanical pattern has been around for quite awhile. The detail of the drawing and the intricate use of color is brilliant.
Each colorway is stunning. The change in the background color highlights various details in the pattern.

Muriel Eulich Water Colorist Extraordinaire
Muriel Eulich is a water colorist whose work is vibrant and joyous. Her paintings are truly glorious, vibrant figures in motion. The inspiration for Muriel's work comes from her life. Her family, her travels, how she observes the world around her, her great sense of humor all inspire her creativity and influence her work.

Muriel Eulich Water Colorist Extraordinaire
Muriel's current series, figures of women wearing pearls, is nothing short of fabulous. The paintings are layers of bold color, shapes, pattern and movement.
Yes, she often works in her kitchen. The island is the perfect space to layout the oversized paintings.

Window Shopping In Paris
My friend Wendy recently spent some time in Paris. While she was there she went window shopping.
Window Shopping In Paris
The trim on this chair makes it a dream come true. I also love the red and teal combination.
The palette of shades of lavender, silver and white create a serene and peaceful display.
These neutrals are so very Paris to me. Love the chandeliers.
Window Shopping In Paris
Pierre Frey fabrics are among the most beautifully made anywhere. The color palette of crisp white, clear pink and fresh green makes a welcoming spring display. The striking color of this dress is so rich and exciting. The drape of the fabric is sensual and feminine.
All of these window displays are charming, delightful and so well put together. Leave a comment and tell me which is your favorite.

Living Room Project
I've started a new project designing a living room. I'm also adding color and a new chandelier to the adjoining dining room.
This beautiful silver grey sofa is the anchor for the room. I will also be proposing a custom designed area rug. The custom design allows me to use the exact colors of the fabrics in the rug.

The palette is silver grey, light tan, ruby red, a hint of spring green and a light teal blue.
Living Room Project
These are tables I am considering for the room.
The end table has a frame in a silver finish and mirrored pieces stenciled with a damask pattern. It's a work in progress.

Elements Of A Sunroom
A current project I have is designing a sophisticated sun room. The room is located off the living room and master bedroom. The goal is to create a comfortable yet sophisticated look, something the parents of this busy family will use and enjoy. The neutral palette of greys, cream and white came from the tones of the tile floor. Accents of color are added by bright botanical pillows on a natural linen background.

St Louis At Home Habitat For Humanity Community Project
Three houses, three families, three teams of designers. That in a nutshell is the 2010 St Louis At Home Habitat For Humanity Community Project. The houses have been built, the families are living in their new homes, now they need furnishings. That's where the designers come in.
Each home and family has a team of designers helping them. St Louis At Home Magazine has secured various retail businesses to help acquire the items each family needs. There have also been generous donations from individuals. The Shop Around The Corner has donated warehouse space for the items collected.
All in all a great community effort.

Habitat For Humanity Designers
Designers Ellen Alvey and Dana King.
That would be me with Becky Noelker. As a team we are making selections of color, furnishings and layout. We have plans to paint some of the furniture collected. It's a creative and exciting project.
Our meeting place was the Sassafras Cafe at The Missouri Botanical Gardens.
