Kitchens Glorious Kitchens

The kitchen is the work area and heart of our homes. In the kitchen we cook, we eat, we talk. We often say our hellos and good byes.

This post isn't so much about how to layout your kitchen for function. This is about making your kitchen your own, visually and aesthetically.

Adding color, your color, makes that kitchen yours.

Kitchens Jonathan Adler

This bright, colorful kitchen was designed by Jonathan Adler. Jonathan's use of green, turquoise and yellow makes the room sing. The color is plentiful but not overwhelming.

Kitchens Blue Cabinets

The vibrant blue cabinets give this kitchen the jolt of color wanted by designer Christina Rottman. When you are confident of your color, go for it.

Kitchens Blue Walls

A small kitchen space can be just as wonderful as larger space. The Robin's egg blue on the walls gives this kitchen a spirited visual lift.

Kitchens Scalamandre' wallcovering

The eating area of this kitchen features the Scalamandre' wallcovering Baldwin Bamboo. I mentioned that pattern here a few posts ago. It is a wonderful wallcovering and a great way to add color. The designer for this kitchen is Ashley Whittaker.

Kitchens Decorative Painting

Designer Erin Martin's use of decorative painting on the walls and ceiling of this kitchen creates an outstanding effect of color and pattern. Beautiful

The Colors Of Spring

Spring brings a burst of bountiful colors. The most exuberant of these colors can be found at an elementary school's Spring Musical Program.

The Colors Of Spring

A production of Bugz by John Jacobson and John Higgins was performed by first graders in costumes as bees, lady bugs, ants and one stink bug!
There is a great variety of color, pattern and texture bursting from the stage. Spring at its very best.

The same students were also the set designers. They created the butterflies and dragonflies in the background. It was an amazing use of color and pattern. Stunning Beautiful Wonderful
The patterns created on the butterflies are brilliant bursts of color.

The look of paisley was painted on more than one happy butterfly.
