Ocean Moon Goddess

The sister piece to Pink Moon Goddess (posted below), Ocean Moon Goddess is in a lovely shade of celadon - that beautiful blue/green color that reminds me of the sea. Her stone is accented with shades of lavender and white...she appears to be floating in the clouds! She's available for sale on my website. Matching earrings included.

Autumn is almost here!

For me, New England living doesn't get any better than during the fall - I love everything about it! Crisp air, fireplaces, brilliant leaves, apple cider...my latest simple necklace pays tribute to the season. This was fun to make and photograph; I happened upon the background paper at a craft store yesterday - perfect! I also made some earrings from the same oak leaves. I'm going to order more as I can already see other ways to use these pretty leaves.

The Sunroom

Last spring I posted about a sunroom I was designing. Selections had been made, I was proceeding with the project. The room is now ready for viewing.

The light filled room has windows on three sides and looks on to the side garden. The color palette comes from the tiled floor (shades of white, cream, grey and taupe) and the vibrant gardens outdoors. The soft, textured grey  wool and silk area rug is from Stark Carpet.   The soft green, textured sofa was purchased by my client on a family vacation.
Overscaled botanical print pillows are from Design Legacy. They bring vibrant, lively color to the room   The pair of bamboo look benches are from Hickory Chair. The curvaceous, comfortable chairs from Sam Moore are covered in a neutral and white botanical fabric from Zoffany. Between the chairs is a silver toned and mirrored three tiered table from Worlds Away.
All together it creates a beautiful, usable sunroom.

Beginnings

Meet Pink Moon Goddess! She's one of my recent designs that was sold to a truly lovely woman. She (and her sister piece, Ocean Moon Goddess) were a joy to create; they just came together perfectly. I will be on the hunt for more unique stones in different colors and create more of these in the future.

A Foyer Update

This foyer is in the home of one of my clients.  The home is about ten years old. It was designed and built with Victorian details. We are now updating the original look. In the foyer I have added both traditional and modern elements. The new details work well together and give the area a chic, updated style.

The Power Of Fabric Part Three

Fabric is amazing. With fabric you can take a worn out piece of furniture and transform it into something fabulous. In this instance fabric has changed the already wonderful Jackson chair from Hickory Chair into stunning couture furniture. The couture fabric is from Kravet Fabrics. It is a chic embroidered  floral on an off white background. This gorgeous chair is now in the living room of one of my clients.

My client's dining room chairs have also been transformed. The original look, which is similar to the look on the left ( sometimes I forget to take the before photo) was a combination of brown leather and a brown patterned chenille. Very nice. To update the look I kept the leather and changed the fabric to a vivacious velvet stripe from Designers Guild. As you might have guessed we're adding color to the rooms. I love the change.
