The kitchen is the work area and heart of our homes. In the kitchen we cook, we eat, we talk. We often say our hellos and good byes.
This post isn't so much about how to layout your kitchen for function. This is about making your kitchen your own, visually and aesthetically.
Adding color, your color, makes that kitchen yours.

Kitchens Jonathan Adler
This bright, colorful kitchen was designed by Jonathan Adler. Jonathan's use of green, turquoise and yellow makes the room sing. The color is plentiful but not overwhelming.
Kitchens Blue Cabinets
The vibrant blue cabinets give this kitchen the jolt of color wanted by designer Christina Rottman. When you are confident of your color, go for it.
Kitchens Blue Walls
A small kitchen space can be just as wonderful as larger space. The Robin's egg blue on the walls gives this kitchen a spirited visual lift.
Kitchens Scalamandre' wallcovering
The eating area of this kitchen features the Scalamandre' wallcovering Baldwin Bamboo. I mentioned that pattern here a few posts ago. It is a wonderful wallcovering and a great way to add color. The designer for this kitchen is Ashley Whittaker.
Kitchens Decorative Painting
Designer Erin Martin's use of decorative painting on the walls and ceiling of this kitchen creates an outstanding effect of color and pattern. Beautiful

Chicago 2010 Dream Home
The Chicago 2010 Dream Home at the Merchandise Mart is glorious and ready to be seen by the world.
The sitting room was created with an opera star client in mind. Designers Monica Pedersen and Becky McCallum designed a brilliant room highlighted by the Scalamandre' hot pink velvet on the sofa.
