Auntie Mame

Posted by PicasaIn the 30's the apartment and Mame were all about elegance. Beautiful curved lines, swags and candlelight fill the apartment. Her beautiful backless dress says it all.

Auntie Mame

Posted by PicasaMame's surroundings reflected who she was and the life she led.
A sophisticated neutral palette along with sensuous fabrics and textures tell the story in the glamorous bedroom.

Auntie Mame

The 50's brought modern furniture and new technology. Although it could be overwhelming, Mame loved having furniture she could raise and (hopefully) lower.

Industrial

The industrial design and construction of these pieces are such a great look. They are strong, functional and stylish.
The tall shelf unit is functional and useful in a variety of ways. It also makes a strong statement.
The accordion bracket shelf adds a distinctive style.
The desk light has both a modern and vintage look.

Industrial

These tables are a great combination of industrial elements: glass, metal and wood.

I love using these pieces in my designs. They are distinctive without being overly decorative.

A great look.

HICKORY CHAIR

As a designer I am drawn to various styles and periods. I appreciate the strong, clean lines of a modern look as well as the layers and mixing of more traditional design. This is why I love furnishings by Hickory Chair.
The design elements used cover a wide area of styles. Which works seamlessly with my own design aesthetics.

HICKORY CHAIR

Posted by PicasaThis beautiful setting is anchored by the Argonne sofa in a deep, rich brown leather. Along with the contrast of the white frame it makes a stunning statement.
The Tuxedo armoire was inspired by a 1940's cabinet. It is sleek, modern and elegant.

HICKORY CHAIR

Posted by PicasaThe Frederika is a beautifully proportioned reproduction of an antique bench. The broad stripe fabric updates the look. The Antoinette side table was reproduced from a find at the Paris Flea Market.

Posted by PicasaThe Duchamp is a classic French demilune sideboard. The clean lines and simple tapered legs make it usable in various settings. Aged pewter oval ring pulls and grill overlays add a touch of antique decoration. The Louis XVI side chairs in a silver finish add elegance to the setting.

DESIGNERS GUILD

Posted by PicasaTricia Guild is the creative force behind Designers Guild. She designs and produces fabrics, trims, wall coverings, area rugs, bedding, furniture and more. Her use of color is both amazing and brilliant.

DESIGNERS GUILD

Posted by PicasaIn the setting shown there is a great mix of styles, colors, textures and even periods.
The mix of classic French with modern gives me a sense of how and where Marie Antoinette would live if she were with us today.
I love the combination of the modern clean line sofa with a rich, pink cut velvet fabric. Then, to give even more WOW, the addition of pillows in embroidered silk and a graphic cut velvet.
I also love the look of using two patterns for the window treatment panels. A floral on one and a stripe on the other . Wonderful.
And, of course, the chandelier, the perfect lighting for the already brilliant room.

CHANDELIERS

Hanging a chandelier in your home brings not only light but also brilliance and sparkle.
If accessories are jewelry for the home a chandelier is the tiara, the crowning touch for the room.
Chandeliers are beautiful whether they are dripping in crystals or of sleek shining metal. They add elegance and style.

A BEAUTIFUL HOME

Posted by PicasaA beautiful home in a beautiful setting is ultimately what my client wanted. First came the practicalities, good schools, walkable community, the necessary number of bedrooms and bathrooms. She found it all in an area filled with other beautiful homes. Her home stands out as unique. It is French Norman style architecture with stone floors, beamed ceilings and paned windows with antiqued glass.
Truly beautiful.

Living Room

Posted by PicasaThe living room is filled with gorgeous fabrics. The window treatments are flowing panels of silk from Scalamandre'. The sofa is covered in a lush, deep mushroom colored velvet. The area rug is a wool and silk, hand knotted, custom design made in Nepal. The colors of the rug are taken from the subtle tones in the terazzo floor, cream, grey, taupe and a touch of lavender.
This palette is used throughout the living and dining room.

Dining Room

Posted by PicasaThe dining room has soft, pale lavender walls. The deep wood tones of the furniture are contrasted by the shades of vanilla in the silk embroidered fabric at the windows.

Family Room

Posted by PicasaThe family room has windows on three sides, wonderful natural light. To subdue that light, the Roman shades for the windows are in a Bailey & Griffin print fabric that repeats the colors in the stone floor.
