Capri: The Color Of The Week

One part blue, one part turquoise, one part teal, a beautiful vibrant color Sherwin Williams Paints calls Capri or #6788.
Whether you use a little or a lot Capri brings a vivacious bit of color and brightness.
It makes a stunning wall color in a casual or a more formal setting.

The tones in Capri make a wonderful contrast to clear white.

These chairs take on a whole new personality with a coat of Capri.
Sometimes a little goes a long way.

Designer Guild  uses the color with pink, navy and white.
Harlequin mixes Capri with deep brown and chartreuse.
Capri, navy, yellow, black and white, combine to create a stunning palette.
 A beautiful, cool, contemporary setting.
Capri can be found just about anywhere.

Where will you be using Capri?

As is typical in New Hampshire, just when you think spring is finally here, cool weather returns, so I'm thinking about making soup.  Here are a couple of great recipes I'd like to try - not too heavy, perfect for spring.

LA BOHÈME - Juliette Greco

I first heard this song in a Paris cafe, and hearing it takes me right back to that moment...it's perfect with Sunday morning coffee.

Poires Belle Hélène

One of my favorite blogs, Fabulously French, has a delightful french food post every Friday.  While going through some of her older posts, I discovered this delicious recipe.  I had this dessert in France years ago, and they're heavenly...not to mention very sensuous to look at!  I just make these this weekend for The Fabulous Boyfriend.  ;-)

The House of Boucheron

Founded in 1858, the House of Boucheron is a luxury French jewelry line.  I've always drooled over their exquisite designs - below are some favorites.
They also have a very good perfume line (Trouble is wonderful - click here to read my review).

Creativity At Scalamandre

The creative minds at Scalamandre have done it again. They are creating a window display for the New York showroom featuring a couture style dress fashioned from the silk pattern Paradiso.
                                                                         Love it..

Burn the Floor

Anyone else remember when the Burn The Floor phenomenon began in 2000?  I bought the original DVD (still available on Amazon - click here to purchase) and became...well...obsessed!  I saw them live, too, and that was a treat.  Visit their website for tour dates here.
This is a clip from the finale.  Just a little something to heat up your Saturday night...

Spring Means New Fabrics

Spring brings beautiful flowers and lots of green growing things. It also brings new fabrics. I've seen wonderful new patterns and collections from Scalamandre, Designers Guild and Lorca.

Brentwood is a new pattern from Scalamandre. It is a printed damask on a soft, lighter than air cotton.
Lillian, a painterly paisley on a linen silk blend ground is also from Scalamandre.

Paradiso is a silk warp print. The rich blue colorway is stunning.

Malibu is a fresh tropical floral on linen.
Damasco Naturale is a rich print on a linen and cotton background.
Scalamandre's collection of fabrics are gorgeous and never disappoint.

Designers Guild has introduced the Kimono Blossom Collection, watercolor inspired prints on the softest of linens.

Also from Designers Guild a wide width sheer fabric with a dramatic ombre effect. A single width of fabric changes from a deep blue to a clear white. Amazing.

From the creative mind at Lorca a sumptuous embroidered silk and rich diamond shape pattern on a deep silk ground.
 I love spring.
