Its Springtime At Designers Guild

It may technically not be spring but things are blooming at Designers Guild. Tricia Guild's new collection is influenced by Gustavian interiors in both pattern and palette. Classic motifs, florals and cool colors are all elements of the collection.  First the fabrics...

Peonies are featured on the Charlottenborg pattern. The bountiful flowers are printed on a soft cotton ground.
The colorways for Charlottenborg are cobalt, charteuse and peony.

The large scale rose of the Sofienberg pattern takes on a graphic effect.
The pattern creates a modern take on a traditional floral.  The colorways are magenta and porcelain.

Mariedal is an all over digital print. Intense and wonderful. The colorways are peony and cobalt.

The inspiration  for the pattern Tistad is a classic decorative oval frame. The ground is a textured linen.
The colorways are blossom, charcoal, moss and aqua.
And now the wallcoverings...The first is Bergius, a pattern influenced by late 18th century wall plates. Stunning.

I love the combination of the Bergius wallcovering with the large scaled rose of the Sofienberg fabric. Gorgeous
The Linnaeus wallcovering bring the topiary pattern into the 21st century.

Mariedal as a wallcovering adds a vibrant accent to a setting.
If you are wanting to replicate the look of the distressed walls in The King's Speech the wallcovering Ajanta will accomplish that for you. The textured wallcovering adds a time worn ambiance to a room.
You can see the full collection at Designers Guild.

Sofienberg Collection From Designers Guild

This week the new Designers Guild collections are being presented in the US.  Here is a sneak peak.

The density and colors of the new floral pattern, Mariedal keeps it fresh and modern.

The traditional pattern Tisdal, has a definite modern appeal.

Floral, stripes, texture...I love this room.
I'll have more soon.

Designers Guild Fall 2010

With the change of season comes a new collection of fabrics and wallcoverings from Designers Guild. The fall 2010 collection is inspired by grand gardens and theatre design. If you know me or follow this blog you know I am a big fan of Designers Guild. A showing of a new collection from DG is a big day for me. So, here is a partial showing of the new Designers Guild. I'm sure there will be more to follow...

This room setting is wonderful, the mix of fabrics, the color palette, the modern furniture in a room with traditional architecture. I love it all.
Dujardin/Magenta, Bakst/Raspberry and Beduzzi/Fuchsia are the fabrics in the window treatments. Dujardin is a printed silk, Bakst is cotton and silk blend and Beduzzi is also a cotton and silk blend. Eberson/Fuchsia is on the sofa and the chair. It is a plush, shaded velvet.

The details of this room are beautiful. The black and white tiled floor is stunning and the curve of the iron railing is a sensuous contrast to the tile. In this setting Designers Guild is showcasing the new Bosquet/Rose panel print. It is a wallcovering that is shown in a full panel, a vivacious focal point.
The window treatment fabrics are Bakst/Raspberry and Bosquet Floral/Raspberry. The chair is covered in Brenan/Moss, a shimmering upholstery weave.
This new collection has an amazing array of fabrics and wallcoverings. More later.

Designers Guild in London Part II

As I mentioned previously in 2008 I was in London to see the new Osborne&Little and Designers Guild collections. Part of the Designers Guild showing was The Royal Collection. Which was developed and designed by Tricia Guild using the interiors of Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle as her inspiration.
These photos show Tricia and her staff presenting the collection for the first time. I was one of the lucky viewers in attendance that day.
These are some of the most gorgeous fabrics I have ever seen. Rich velvets, luxurious silks and elaborated embroidery are all part of this very Royal Collection.
The wallcoverings from this collection are also amazing. There are large scale damasks with a bit of sheen added. Truly beautiful.
The Royal Collection is a wonderful example of traditional design at its absolute best. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of the premiere showing of this stunning collection.

Designers Guild in London

In 2008 I traveled to England. Part of my time there was spent in London viewing the latest collections from Osborne & Little and Designers Guild. I also visited the flagship Designers Guild shop on Kings Rd. The product and displays were amazing.   Much of the product is only available online in the US.
There was beautiful fabric, wallpaper, furniture, linen and bedding. The displays in the shop are innovative and lively, true to Designers Guild style. The hanging panels of fabric are a perfect backdrop to the displays.
Sometimes more is better. The mix of fabrics on the curvaceous chair is bright and spirited. Love it.
The low profile and clean lines of the sectional give it a modern style. The fabric, called Racine, is a soft, shimmering, ribbed velvet. Together they create a dynamic combination of fabric and furniture. The Racine covered sectional is soft, comfortable, sleek and modern.
The combination of colors and textures make this bedroom setting so inviting. The floor lamp is pretty amazing too.
Leave a comment. Let me know which of the displays is your favorite.
