Habitat For Humanity

The Habitat project has been completed. The bungalow style house that was built by Habitat For Humanity has been furnished. The house has become a home. Our team of designers gathered furniture, area rugs, fabrics, lighting and accessories. Window treatments and pillows were designed and made from the fabrics. The house was painted in neutral tones then heightened and brightened by areas of color. Painted graphics were added to the boys' bedrooms. The master bedroom has a comfortable color palette of ivory, lavender, purple and misty green with highlights of silver. The family is now happily settled into their new home.

St Louis At Home Habitat For Humanity Community Project

Three houses, three families, three teams of designers. That in a nutshell is the 2010 St Louis At Home Habitat For Humanity Community Project. The houses have been built, the families are living in their new homes, now they need furnishings. That's where the designers come in.
Each home and family has a team of designers helping them. St Louis At Home Magazine has secured various retail businesses to help acquire the items each family needs. There have also been generous donations from individuals. The Shop Around The Corner has donated warehouse space for the items collected.
All in all a great community effort.

That would be me with Becky Noelker. As a team we are making selections of color, furnishings and layout. We have plans to paint some of the furniture collected. It's a creative and exciting project.
Our meeting place was the Sassafras Cafe at The Missouri Botanical Gardens.
