Living Room Project

I've started a new project designing a living room. I'm also adding color and a new chandelier to the adjoining dining room.

This beautiful silver grey sofa is the anchor for the room. I will also be proposing a custom designed area rug. The custom design allows me to use the exact colors of the fabrics in the rug.

The palette is silver grey, light tan, ruby red, a hint of spring green and a light teal blue.

Living Room Project

These are tables I am considering for the room.
The coffee table is a dark ash with silver tone highlights.

The end table has a frame in a silver finish and mirrored pieces stenciled with a damask pattern. It's a work in progress.

Elements Of A Sunroom

A current project I have is designing a sophisticated sun room. The room is located off the living room and master bedroom. The goal is to create a comfortable yet sophisticated look, something the parents of this busy family will use and enjoy. The neutral palette of greys, cream and white came from the tones of the tile floor. Accents of color are added by bright botanical pillows on a natural linen background.

St Louis At Home Habitat For Humanity Community Project

Three houses, three families, three teams of designers. That in a nutshell is the 2010 St Louis At Home Habitat For Humanity Community Project. The houses have been built, the families are living in their new homes, now they need furnishings. That's where the designers come in.
Each home and family has a team of designers helping them. St Louis At Home Magazine has secured various retail businesses to help acquire the items each family needs. There have also been generous donations from individuals. The Shop Around The Corner has donated warehouse space for the items collected.
All in all a great community effort.

Habitat For Humanity Designers

These photos show the meeting of Team 2 designers. Here we see Laure Hullverson and Becky Noelker.

Designers Ellen Alvey and Dana King.

That would be me with Becky Noelker. As a team we are making selections of color, furnishings and layout. We have plans to paint some of the furniture collected. It's a creative and exciting project.
Our meeting place was the Sassafras Cafe at The Missouri Botanical Gardens.
